Sacrifice 'Twas in a midnight dream in which I last caressed your face Even more realistic than this chaotic life that I've been living But in a brief alteration of my now restless state I realize the truth of the love you have given I reach out to you as if you were physically present And I watch your image fade to my dismay I start to reminisce of your warmth and comfort As the dull darkened sky invites the light of day We have learned to love in the lights of the shadows In a land where many have been forbidden A love so pure as the endless air that we breathe As transparent as the times have hidden How can they make such wretched decisions Can anyone be a god as they choose Like a sacrificial piece which lie on a chess board Which uncomplaintably awaits to be used I care for your love as I have cared for no one Although the times we have spent have been few I have never regretted the sacrifices I have given For they were sacrificed for the sake of you It is all worth it . . .
